Jewish Ghetto & Trastevere Food Stroll
The Jewish Ghetto is one of Rome’s most intiriguing neighborhoods due to its hybrid of history, architecture and tradition. It also carries its own distinct cuisine quite different from what is often thought of typical Roman food. Fried artichokes and unexpected ingredients which have lent themselves to this innovative cuisine.
Then its time to cross the river via the pretty isola to heady Trastevere. Lit by twinkling lights and framed by canopies of greenery, it’s hard not to fall under Trastevere’s spell. This iconic neighborhood was made for movies and eating.
We will take you to typical bars offering delicious typical pre-dinner snacks. Once you’ve had your fill of exploring it is time to sit and unwind in a typical trattoria with a plate of Roman pasta and a glass of wine.
Reviews
As the participants arrived, it began with a prosecco and snacks reception, followed by the cooking classes, and ended with a meal of the pizza and gelato we had made, with wine and soft drinks.
Our chef, Giulio, was friendly, knowledgeable, informative and had a great sense of humor. We learned a lot from him and had a lot of fun. The group size was 8 adults and a child, which fit comfortably around the large prep island in the kitchen where we prepared our pizzas (with many toppings available) and the gelato (a choice of 3 flavors). Everyone was very friendly, had a great time, and enjoyed the pizza and gelato that we had made.
I highly recommend this class.
